Meaning in Mitzvot | Sundays at 9:15am (in-person and Zoom)| Join us as we explore the deeper purpose of the mitzvot, drawing on the Sefer HaChinuch and other Medieval commentaries, alongside relevant passages from the Gemara and Midrash. We will uncover how mitzvot shape our values, guide our choices, and connect us to God.
The Structure of the Year: Jewish Law and the Holidays | Thursdays at 12pm (in-person and Zoom), Starting Sep. 4 | In preparation for each upcoming holiday, we will study key halachic sources, examining how Jewish law has developed and how these laws deepen both the meaning and the practice of each holiday.
Gemara Berachot: The Posture of Prayer (Perek Ein Omdin) | Thursdays at 8:00pm (in-person and Zoom), Starting Sep. 4 | A sugya-based Gemara shiur on a variety of fascinating issues related to the essence and practice of prayer, offering a valuable framing for thinking about what it means to stand before God. Most weeks will feature in-depth analysis with Rishonim and Acharonim (Medieval and Modern commentaries), while other weeks will move at a faster (“bekius”) pace.
